The youth group consists of students from 6th grade to 12th grade. The focus of this group is discipleship, Studying God’s word, building relationships, and fun! Youth group is a life group: we just do life together through supporting each other in everything, including sporting events, concerts.
We love to have fun while we apply God’s Word to our lives and live out the mission of the church. Our heart as a youth group is expressed in Paul’s words from Ephesians 4:11-16:
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. ”
We believe that you are never too young to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world (1 Timothy 4:12).
Our weekly youth gathering meets on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8 and is called Hydrate. Hydrate consists of a group discussion on the things of God, random games, food and sometimes small group competitions. We like to mix things up a lot at Hydrate and their is an element of “non-routine” while also putting in place the necessary routine items. We always have a good time and it’s a great addition to the week. Why do we call it Hydrate…? Come join us and find out! It is located in what we call “The Barn” – Youth Room behind the offices of Lighthouse Church.
We also have a monthly event called OVERFLOW. Overflow is pretty much anything that isn’t Hydrate, Overflow is held the last Saturday of the month (sometimes we move it up for different reasons), each Overflow has a theme and usually there will be a time of devotion around that theme….. We have had a night of music and special testimony, bon-fire, beach day, a concert/lock in , etc. We like to look at each Overflow as a blank canvas where we all get together and create a time of worship, no matter the theme or setting.
We have several youth getaways throughout the year including Youth Retreats, and Summer Mission trips.
