The birth of a baby is an amazing experience. My wife and I have 2 children and fortunately I was able to be in the room for both births. One birth was fairly normal – I can say that as the Man – while the second was anything but normal. Regardless of the way the birth took place, both were absolutely incredible. The miracle of life being formed inside of my wife, the nurturing that takes place during those long nine months, the formation and details that take place are absolutely mind blowing.
This is the setting that God chose to enter Earth through. God did not come to us as a warrior, although His is a warrior. God did not choose to come to us in the form of a powerful leader, although He is a powerful leader. God did enter humanity as an ancient Elder, although He is wisdom. God chose to come to us as a vulnerable child born of a virgin who was pledged to be married to a man named Joseph. A teenage couple in love is the means to which the Savior of the World would come! Why?
