As a native to the beautiful Charleston area, I developed a passion to see the Kingdom of God explode here.
In June of 2000 I married the woman of my dreams … I know that seems cheesy but it is true. Over the past 18 years God has blessed us in many ways, especially with Ansley and Cade.
I have a strong burden for this community and for those who are hurting around us. Through serving others and meeting their needs both physical and spiritual, I desire to bring glory and honor to God. As a part of Lighthouse Church I started a one day a month time of service to our community called Action Day. I believe that Christ followers should show the love of God in truth and in Action – 1 John 3:18. Natalie and I along with our team desire to see Lighthouse continue to develop into a body of believers that is passionate about the community and each other as a Family.
Natalie and I lead and host a Life Group that focuses on all areas of a families spiritual needs. As a Family of Families we gather at each other’s house to worship together, to build upon our relationships as family and to serve the Kingdom together. Our Life Group is a special group of people in our lives. Our desire is to see our Life Group and the other groups at Lighthouse grow and multiply.
I enjoy building relationships with people through work and recreation. I enjoy playing Airsoft with my son Cade, watching my daughter, Ansley, make my heart drop as she does gymnastics, watching my wife get excited about helping others with living healthy lifestyles …
As the pastor of Lighthouse Church it is an honor leading this group of people into a deeper understanding of the Word of God. We would love for you to partner with us as we take the good news of the Gospel to the ends of the earth!

Dusty is a Charleston native who grew up on James Island. After graduating from the College of Charleston, he spent time in England and Texas before returning to the Lowcountry!
He has led worship in multiple contexts since 1998. He has been a part of the Lighthouse team since 2010 leading the worship team, Life Groups and as part of the Pastoral teaching team.
Dusty and his beautiful bride, Tammy, are figuring out how to play zone defense with their three children: Noah, Rutledge and Legare. And they’re raising them to know who to cheer for: Go Tigers!
Dusty is passionate about leading others in worshiping God whether it’s in the context of music, teaching or spending time with others.
A native of the Lowcountry, Sharon grew up, went to school, and has worked in the greater Charleston area her entire life. She has spent most of her professional years in business administration/management and began serving as a volunteer in Lighthouse’s office in 2003. Sharon and her husband Keith joined Lighthouse in 2002 and are known throughout the church for their warmth and hospitality…their home is always open and something is always on the table! Sharon is very close to her family and appreciates them all living close by. Sharon accepted a staff position in 2003 and will always be one of the first faces you see when you visit Lighthouse.

I was born and raised in Wilmington North Carolina, home of the Seahawks. At a young age I fell in love with two things, Baseball and movies. I can spend hours talking about both (I speak in movie quotes way too much). Since 4th grade I’ve had unhealthy obsession with The Boston Red Sox.
With regard to my relationship with Jesus, around the age of 19 God was doing a lot of things to get my attention and in February of 2008 he got it. I walked away from a life that was, at times, a lot of fun but mostly it was lonely, tiresome, and unfulfilling and God grabbed hold of me and changed me and I decided to become a follower of Jesus (Luke 9:23). This was the first time in my life that I truly knew Jesus and what he did for me on the Cross, and that changed my life forever.
I felt the call into youth ministry not long after I gave my life to Christ. This worked out well since my dream of becoming a MLB player / Professional wrestler (You read me right) was for some reason not happening. I mostly felt the call to encourage youth not to make the same mistakes that I did as a teenager, and to live a life that shows the world that Jesus is better than all the things this world puts in our way.
In June 2008 I met Megan through some mutual friends, and on June 2, 2012 I had the honor of making her my beautiful wife. Other than Jesus she is the love of my life. I’m not sure what I would do without her (as you can tell by the picture I married way out of my league) In June of 2015 we welcomed our daughter, Laney, and look forward to end of May when we get to meet our son, Carter!
I love being in Youth Ministry it is so much fun! I always try to create a laid back environment where Youth feel comfortable and welcome. God has given me a strong passion for sharing Jesus with students, and like I said its fun!
Lighthouse is a great place, it has been a major blessing to my family and I. It is an honor to worship and serve with this church!
Thank you for reading my bio.

I am originally from Massachusetts and spent my entire childhood and a good part of my adult life living within a hundred mile radius of the hospital I was born in! Needless to say, I wasn’t one to wander too far from home! I attended a small college (close to home of course!) and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.
My family and I came to visit a friend in 2004 and that, folks, was the end of my “stay close to home” mentality! Home is where your heart is, and our hearts were very much here in South Carolina! We felt it almost immediately. In August 2005, we moved to Mount Pleasant, fell in love with the Low Country and I am certain that God had plans for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11)! My son, Matthew is 17, a junior at Wando High School and currently playing on the varsity baseball team. My daughter, Riley is 14 and is a freshman at Wando also. She is a ballet dancer and is part of the high school chorus program. They are both involved with Lighthouse Church and its various ministries and have many friends through their Youth Group. We began attending Lighthouse Church in 2009 and quickly called it our second home or “families of families” (another place where our hearts were!). I began as a preschool teacher at Lighthouse Christian Learning Center in 2005, before attending church here, and taught until 2011 when I felt led to apply for the position of Children’s Ministry Director here at Lighthouse. I have been the CMD for two and a half years and love what I do! Watching the children grow in the Lord and serve others has been amazing. Because of my love for the teaching aspect as well as for directing, I rejoined our preschool family and teach a three year old class three mornings a week. What a blessing both of my jobs have been! “Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them WHAT COUNTS is best.” I believe this both spiritually as well as educationally. I am excited to be a part of your child’s growth and spiritual development at Lighthouse Church, to have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to love and to teach your children and to witness God move through them.
