What do you believe? Why do you believe these things? There is a difference between belief and knowledge. So often people believe that they are following Jesus because they have knowledge about Jesus. Just knowing truths about Jesus as Savior does not mean that you are living the life of a disciple and are in a relationship with Jesus. Knowing truths does not save a person, just as knowing the answer for a test does not mean I put the answer on paper and pass.
This summer we will unpack a little bit about the difference between Knowing Jesus and Belief In Jesus. Paul said that Knowledge puffs up. Belief in Jesus is accompanied by actions. We will look at several truths that we believe in order for us to evaluate our lives to see if these truth are just knowledge or if they are actually beliefs.
I am looking forward to this time together as we continue to Build Relationships that Impact Eternity. To do this we will take our beliefs and love those around us so they will know and then believe in Jesus as well. Our responsibility is not to save people but to love them and be sent to them as Jesus was sent to us. This requires belief!
